Las Vegas Juneteenth Grill Boss Competition Rules and Regulations

Date of Event: June 14, 2024

Submission Deadline: All registrations and entry submissions must be received no later than May 31, 2024.

Registration Qualifications and Fees:

1. Participants must be at least 18 years old to register.
2. Each participant must pay a registration fee of $50, which includes entry into the competition and access to required supplies.
3. Registration forms must be completed accurately and submitted along with the registration fee by the deadline.
4. Only amateur grill masters are eligible to participate. Professional chefs and those with significant experience in culinary competitions are not allowed.

Tournament Format:

1. The competition will consist of three rounds: a. Preliminary Round: All registered participants will compete in the preliminary round. Judges will evaluate each contestant’s grilling skills and dish presentation. b. Semi-Final Round: The top contestants from the preliminary round will advance to the semi-final round. They will be challenged with a specific ingredient or theme to incorporate into their dishes. c. Final Round: The finalists will compete head-to-head in the final round. They will be given a mystery basket of ingredients and must create a dish using those ingredients within a specified time limit.

Trophy Winner Categories:

1. Overall Grill Boss Champion: Awarded to the contestant with the highest cumulative score across all rounds.
2. Best Grilled Dish: Awarded to the contestant with the most flavorful and creatively grilled dish.
3. Presentation Excellence: Awarded to the contestant with the most visually appealing dish.
4. People’s Choice Award: Awarded to the contestant with the most votes from event attendees.

Medal Winner Categories:

1. Semi-Final Round Winners: Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three contestants in the semi-final round.
2. Final Round Winners: Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three contestants in the final round.

General Rules:

1. All participants must adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines throughout the competition.
2. Contestants are responsible for bringing their own grilling equipment, utensils, and ingredients, except those provided by the organizers.
3. Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or unethical behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
4. Participants must follow instructions from competition organizers and judges at all times.
5. The decisions of the judges are final and binding.
